Good news!
I found the problem that was causing the installer to die when trying to
do a 3 disk install. I've just finished installing a minimal system from
the new installer.

The install starts from our modified install disk, using the trimmed down
comps and *img files. It then asks for the stock Red Hat Linux 7.2 disks
to actually install the RPMs. (This has the added bonus of allowing us to
include updated packages with the installer, if need be.)

Anyway, 3 days and about 25 CD's later, we have a working installer. The
new iso image is 95MB, which is a significant reduction. I'll see what I
can do to reduce it now that it actually works.

I'll upload the new image and the diffs against anaconda tonight. Please
wait a few hours before trying to download it, or it is likely you will
get only a partial file.

Please download and test this if you can.

Note that if you do a bare minimal install, you will want to select
choose individual packages, and add net-tools to the list of files to be
installed. I left it out of the base section of the comps file and the
machine won't be able to set it's hostname. It's already fixed locally,
but I don't have time tonight to generate a new image and upload it.

The iso will be at
http://webpages.charter.net/lmf62/RULE_installer-v0.6.2.iso

Patches will be at my own server:
