[Rule-list] Trying to install 0.7.1

After trying 0.7.0 (my numbering since there is no "official" version
attached) didn't work because update.img was illegal I tied the
updates.tar file (my numer 0.7.1). Devon, could you please label your
releases with a version number? That would make it much easier to
address each version.

First, as already written to the list, I untarred it with the Gnome file
manager and then copied the files to the floppy, but the updates weren't
recognized. I did the untar on a VFAT32 partition, therefore any chmod
was screwed up, sorry.

Then I used the suggested console steps (I had to alter slightly,
because the files ended up on the harddisk instead of the floppy). I
used both mke2fs -m0 /dev fd0 and mke2fs -v /dev/fd0, both on several
floppies, but all ended up in having the installer thinking for quite a
while, and then I got the message
exec: Exec format error
install exited abnormally
and the system was halted. I used several different floppies and
downloaded the file several times, to no avail. I guess something went
wrong...

You know these email failure notifications? ;=D
This is the RULE tester at p166mmx.martin-stricker.de
I'm sorry I couldn't install RULE-installer 0.7.1, it exits abnormally.
This is a permanent error, I'm giving up.

It's 2:30 AM this tester is going to bed NOW! ;-)

Best regards,
Martin Stricker
