Devon,

I have been experimenting with hard drive installs of rule. I would like
a loop0 device, /dev/loop0, available at redhat CD mount time.

Also the program losetup in /sbin. It is an rpm and is in the standard
redhat install. The loop devices allow you to mount an image file like
it was a block device.

This is what I did.

On my windows box I formatted an 800 meg hard drive and then I
copied the iso from disk 1 to it using cd2file, a freeware from
goldenhawk.com.

On my full install 7.2 version computer I attached this drive as the
slave to the boot disk. I mounted the hard drive as msdos. This gave
me access to the image. I mounted the image to /mnt/cdrom as a
loop device. This used the loop0 device and the losetup program.

If I can get to this point with miniconda I can install rule from the hard
drive. I'm still working on it.

Thanks,

Hairy Larry
