[Rule-list] preparing Richard's laptop

Hello All

Perhaps it is too early to ask:

The laptop has no cd drive and I won't try to remove the hdd.

In my ignorance I had once attempted to install mandrk 8.1 by nfs from the 
desktop's cd-rom and did get as far as reading the cd when the installer 
choked on the 16 mb of memory. I'll try again with rh 7.2 and whatever you 
suggest, but unlike Larry, I know almost nothing about commands from a linux 
shell.

The laptop now has w98 but I'm ready to dump it for an all linux install. In 
fact, I have wanted to for a while now so I can show others what a linux 
setup can do.
