Sorry D....this is what I get...and I'm right in
/lib/modules/xxxxxxxxxx/drivers/cdrom

#insmod sbpcd=0x230,1
Using /lib/modules/2.4.9-31BOOT/kernel/drivers/cdrom/sbpcd.o/sbpcd=0x230,1
insmod:
/lib/modules/2.4.9-31BOOT/kernel/drivers/cdrom/sbpcd.o/sbpcd=0x230,1: %m

Then after a good while....
#lsmod
Module            Size               Used by              Not tainted
sbpcd              53248                 0   (uninitialized)
