Hello Everybody,
I've been reading the rule list for a while now, but have kept quiet due to
time problems. I'm doing my MA right now, but would like to help later on.
End of May, I guess.
I have, sadly, no programming knowledge whatsoever, but would like to help
with the documentation in german and english. I also own an old 386 and could
make all the proper mistakes to help along development, since the project
seems to be aimed at people like me - the friendly term dummy comes to mind ;o)
What I have now is three suggestions:
1) As to the logo. There has been no discussion after Marco came up with the
bodybuilder tux (which I don't like so much). I've already found 3 of those
on the net: linuxkonsult.com; ggi-project.org and hardcorelinux.com all have
one (according to lwn.net)
I suggest a tux hugging a ruler. Goes with the project name and shows that
size is the idea?
2)The desktop: how about xfce it's smaler than the two big ones, but allows
for KDE as well as GNOME apps.
3) Since the project is aimed also at so called third world countries, it
migt be a good idea to get in contact with Danny Yee who wrote a first monday
article titled:Development, Ethical Trading, and Free Software (
http://firstmonday.org/issues/issue4_12/yee/ ). Danny works, amongst others, for oxfam.

I hope this helps for now. I'll be asking for my share of the work as soon
as I've got my exams out of the way ;o)
Thanx
Joachim
