The crucial thing is that it can accept the xwd
image format, and it can.  There's no need to use
pnm in the middle.

If convert accepts STDIN (and it surely does) the
script can be
modified for sure. It has to do more or less like
this:

	 xwd _with_options_as_today | convert >
/tmp/screenshot.png

	 _ask_the_file_name_with_Xdialog_

	 mv  /tmp/screenshot.png  $HOME/nome_chosen_by_user
