What issue? I'd like to see the article. I can't find anything rule
related on their website.

This should be handled during install. Did you see any error messages
during the RULE install? Stage1 seems to be a message from the "grub"
bootloader, and slinky uses "lilo" as it's bootloader. I don't recall
seeing any like "stage1" during a lilo boot. (But I could well be
mistaken.)

You would select hda as the device to install to, and then partition it
during the install. You should create at least 2 partitions, one for
swap, the other data. Slinky *should* refuse to continue unless you have
at least 2 partitions one of which must be set as a swap partition.

You should use a more recent version of Slinky. Everything up to and
including slinky v0.3.95 supports Red Hat's 7.x versions. Support for the
7.x series has been dropped going forward, however.

If you run the installer and copy the install log to a floppy before
rebooting, I can probably be of more help. At the end of the install (and
before slinky starts unmounting filesystems) the log should be in
/root/scripts/install.log. You can mail me the log file off list.
