[RULE] How do I get the kernel installed???

I finally got my 3Com 3c509b and 3c509tp cards
working.  It turns out they were both set to use the
same io address.  I had to use an old DOS utility--
3Com EtherDisk v. 2.0-- that I miraculously found
while I was looking for some other stuff.  I
understand there are also newer EtherDisk tools
(http://www.3com.com/products/en_US/result.jsp?selected=5&sku=3C509B-TPC&sort=effdt&order=desc
or for linux @ http://sycld.com) that will do the same
thing.  With that utility I simply booted into DOS and
ran the program which enabled me to autoconfigure the
io address in use and make sure pnp was disabled.

Now everything works properly with the 3c509.o driver
under RedHat 9.  Well, since I have 2 NIC cards I had
to set aliases in /etc/modules.conf

# /etc/modules.conf
alias eth0 3c509
alias eth1 3c509

Hope this helps anyone else searching through the
archives who may ever have this problem.
