I have always had this problem too, in spite of:

#/etc/sysconfig/network

NETWORKING=yes
HOSTNAME=rule101.gr
GATEWAY=

and

#/etc/sysconfig/network

127.0.0.1	localhost.localdomain	localhost
192.168.1.101 rule101.gr		rule101

and uname -a yields:

Linux rule101.gr 2.4.20-8 #1 Thu Mar 13 16:42:56 EST 2003 i586 i586 i386 GNU/Linux

Perhaps xresources needs tweaking?

Richard
