I'm not sure.  Perhaps, but I would personally only suggest using
such a "prebuilt" CD as a last straw, when you just can't do it any
other way.  The types of things Slinky does is still useful no matter
what distro you use, just the methods differ (and boy do they ever!).

Despite the historically RedHat usage, as said before, RULE can be
distro independant.  It isn't about one distro or another, it is about
modern Linux on not-so-modern hardware.  The Slinky environment
could technically be called its own floppy based distro as well, but
that's not a problem.  The more ways to help get any up to date 
Linux onto a machine, the better.
