Hello All

Having achieved relative success with the minimum of pkgs (no options chosen) I decided to go for adding the options, network, dialup, Xorg, sendmail. However, this time the sort routine got mixed up (perhaps a variable being given the incorrect value?) This resulted in reporting that a pkg (I don't recall which one) could not be found and a quick return to the menu, not having installed any pkgs. As the routine returns one to the menu I tried the install step again, with the exact same result. The third time at the install step I tried choosing no options. This allowed the install to go ahead. Remembering to interrupt to edit the grub.conf file, I chose the last step in the menu, drop to a shell. I then edited the file and pushed Ctrl+Alt+Del to reboot. The system became bootable up to a point where it complained that /proc was a symbolic link leading nowhere. This makes me suspect that I had better allow the script to run all the way through, first, before going to edit the file. However, there still remains the other problem of when one chooses certain additional options.

I must leave now but will try more times with various options to better report what is going on in due course.

Richard
