Hi Marco,

Unless I am missing something, testers don't need developer access.
Annonymous cvs access is available to anyone without even registering.
Developer access would allow people to make code modifications, and
probably isn't a good thing.

I haven't checked anything into cvs yet, as I am not quite sure the
current work on the installer belongs there. Somehow, I don't think that
the Savannah folks would appreciate me putting up iso images. :)

What do you think about the progress so far?

I'm a little dissapointed about the report from Red Hat's Brock Organ,
and waiting to see a reply as to how the boot failure occured. If, as it
appears, the kernal simply refused to boot when he appended 'mem=24M' to
the kernel parameters, then it should also happen with the standard
installer. Nothing I have changed should affect that. If he installed
LILO, and had other boot parameters (Perhaps for his SCSI adapter?), I
could understand it. LILO won't handle a string of parameters over 79
characters properly.

Anyway, until I hear from him, there isn't much I can do about it. I
modified the installer further last night, and now have the install class
menus in the proper order, firewall setup is skipped (we don't include
lokkit. Plus we want to provide our own script for this.) Base install +
openssh-server is now at about 129 packages. The installed system takes
161 MB of disk space.
