There's an English description , source and binaries for x86 and various RISC ,as well as links on http://www.tillanosoft.com 
This is in effect a micro-emacs ( I have it on a HP 680LX )
Other alternatives are pico and nano , wich both  are more user-friendly for beginners than emacs
