Maybe I spoke too soon. The ppp package builds without too much
difficulty against uClibc.
[mfratoni at paradox ppp-2.4.1]$ ldd pppd/pppd
libcrypt.so.0 => /usr/local/i386-linux-uclibc/lib/libcrypt.so.0
libdl.so.0 => /usr/local/i386-linux-uclibc/lib/libdl.so.0
libc.so.0 => /usr/local/i386-linux-uclibc/lib/libc.so.0
/usr/local/i386-linux-uclibc/lib/ld-uClibc.so.0 =>
/usr/local/i386-linux-uclibc/lib/ld-uClibc.so.0
It's even smallish...
[mfratoni at paradox ppp-2.4.1]$ ls -alh pppd/pppd
- -rwxrwxr-x 1 mfratoni mfratoni 161k May 8 00:19 pppd/pppd
It _might_ even work, I haven't tested at all.
