Because someone told me this wouldn't work, I had to do it and find out
for myself...
The miniconda installer (version 0.7.3) for Red Hat 7.2, with one minor
change, will install the 7.3 distribution. The comps file on the updates
disk has to be edited, and 'links' changed to 'elinks'. Once that is
done, the install continues without issue. (The install will crash if the
comps file isn't fixed.) Of course, the comps file isn't quite right, so
the user is prompted to install additional packages to satisfy
dependencies, but it does in fact install very nicely.
It even prompts for the third disk when needed. Not bad for an installer
that was used for a 2 disk install. :)
I bring this up because the new anaconda is bigger, and probably will not
install in 12M of RAM. (The initial ram disk is about 1M bigger, for one
thing.)
So, like the subject says, "Hrmmm...."
