Not the same thing, but if you'd like to see how Red Hat puts the anaconda 
installer together:
http://www.tuxfan.homeip.net:8080/hacks/build_distro-v0.3/

It's a set of scripts to build new updated disk sets for Red Hat 
7.{2,3}|8.0. It takes a directory containing the stock rpms, another 
containing updated packages, and builds new ISO images using the anaconda 
tools.
