Ingo,

from the purely technical point of view, unfortunately, I have nothing
to add to what Michael already suggested. I will try to ask on the
AbiWord developers list if they have other suggestions. Apart from
that, I wanted to:

1) suggest that you subscribe (maybe only for a while) to the general
Red Hat 9 users list, shrike-list at redhat.com. Instructions to
subscribe are reachable from RH home page.

In this way, you will be able to gather feedback from a much wider
user base than RULE's, and their input will be relevant because we are
both using the same packages (which is, if I can say so myself, one of
the major strenghts and "selling points" of the RULE "way": you have a
distro custom-made for low end PCs... out of the very same packages,
docs, etc... that thousands of other people use and have already built
and debugged for us)

2) PLEASE keep a complete log/diary of all this project of yours,
covering both the end user sides (ease of use, etc...) and technical
ones (what to install from which disc, post install config, disk and
RAM needs, everything) so that when it runs, we can put the complete
documentation on VUM's site, RULE's or both.

What you will do this summer in Africa is (together with R. Kweskin
work in greek schools (**)) the first real world deployment of RULE to
end users. It is essential that we make this widely known, and pass as
much as possible of this work to other end users, without restarting
from scratch.

     Thanks for every feedback,

	    Marco Fioretti

(**) Did I forget somebody? Please tell!

Real Programmers don't play tennis, or any other sport that requires
you to change clothes. Mountain climbing is OK, and real programmers
wear their climbing boots to work in case a mountain should suddenly
spring up in the middle of the machine room.
