Hello All

Lastly, from the same install, having chosen tinyx, automatically xf86
packages were installed naturally and although ice is to be the only window
manager I experimented to see how little else I could get away with while
still having kmail, kpp and konqueror available with ice. Some of the
packages in the kde list are already in the xf86 list. Is this on purpose? It
certainly does not affect the install.

The packages kdenetwork (from disk 2) contains kppp and kmail and kdebase
(from disk 3) contains konqueror neither of which were in the kde list.
Having install these with the nodeps option I then installed libart_lgpl from
disk 1 and kdelibs from disk 2 as kmail and kppp needed these to run. Both
these packages were in the kde lists. No other packages were manually
installed from the kde lists.

The box seems to run okay (just been a few days so far) and 585 MB is the
footprint. The rationale for this (beyond just to see if it works) is that
possible new users won't want command line apps (even though I keep vi to
mess with.)

Richard
