[RULE] sbpcd compiled for latest gcc?

	It seems inevitable that if the project wishes to support hardware that
RedHat no longer supports, we will find that we must supplement the
standard RedHat with kernels, modules, etc.  RULE's stated goal is not
to become a distribution in-and-of-itself.  Currently slinky is a
fantastic tool for getting an rpm-manageable GNU/Linux system up and
running on older hardware.  It does require greater knowledge than
beginners usually have.

	Maybe at this point it is more of a question of resources?  Does RULE
have server space for custom kernels, modules, etc. to be made
available?  Are people interested in creating these kernels for use with
slinky and/or anaconda?

	I have been sort of hesitant to offer to do more than the occasional
test installation or a few paragraphs for a webpage simply because, like
most of us, I am already pretty busy.  Goodness knows what would happen
to my remaining free time if I actually got a fulltime job! {8->.  I am
also unsure if my level of knowledge is yet great enough to be useful
for other tasks.  

	But having said that, it is safe to say that I could perform
intermediate tasks that are more advanced than novice, but less so than
a full-fledged developer.  That is, I could compile kernels, modify
scripts for specific purposes, etc.  Further, the best way to learn more
is to attempt useful tasks.
