Hi everybody,

I closed my tests of installing FC2 with slinky version 0.4.02.

I got all installation methods working (exept http) in a LAN. Working
means: I can boot the newly installed system using lilo or the created
boot floppy - nothing more. In other words: slinky covers
installation of LINUX. Configuration is left over and has to be added.
(See vumbox for a sucessful example.)

Installations via LAN using ftp or nfs need a working network
connection. It is necessary to load the drivers with modprobe from
the second virtual console. The only availabe modules are: 3c59x.ko,
8390.ko, ne2k-pci.ko.

You can also try pcmcia but I have no way to test this my own.

The features of this version are:

*) installation kernel 2.6.8.1 with support for nfs-filesystem
*) busybox-1.00-rc3 with fdisk, rpm and ftpget.
*) it loads many FC2-rpms from FC2-i386-disc[1-4].iso.
*) it installes lilo and/or creates a boot floppy.

These are the dependencies to keep in mind:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
kernel-2.6.8.1   <======================== kernel-sources

busybox-1.00-rc3 <==== uClibc-0.9.20 <==== kernel-headers
  with: rpm
        fdisk
        ftpget
        modprobe

Slinky-scripts: base_files (kernel and boot-messages)
		setup.sh + slinky.config
                base_install.sh
                package-lists for FC2   <==== FC2-i386-disc[1-4].iso
--------------------------------------------------------------------
