Im maybe not explaining this correctly.  Bothcare are located within the 
one pc as per the two interface example given by shorewall eth0 faces 
out that is towards the internet and eth1 faces in towards the intenal 
network.

OK thanks for that! My problerm at the minute though is internet 
connectivty. I dont have shorewall installed on the PC as yet im trying 
to ensure that I have connectivity to the internet first.  It SEEMS as 
if I have as DHCP is up and running but I cannont ping an IP addtess on 
the internet
