[RULE] Attempt 3: Toshiba Satellite 115CS

I've tried twice before in the past, but I am going to try again.
System: Toshiba Satellite 115CS
CPU: P90
RAM: 16M
HD: 2G
Partitions (linux partitions leftover from previous attempt):
/dev/hda1 Boot Start=1 End=260 Blocks=1048288* Id=b System=Win95 FAT32
/dev/hda2 Start=261 End=277 Blocks=68544 Id=82 System=Linux Swap
/dev/hda3 Start=278 End=525 Blocks=999936 Id=83 System=Linux
Floppy: 1.44M
CDRom: None
PCMCIA: Yes
NIC: Focus Networks 10BaseT/10Base2 Combo (unknown chipset)
Steps taken so far (blind alleys removed):
1. Downloaded the three disk images from http://www.rule-project.org/download/slinky/
2. Put the images onto floppy with rawwritewin
3. Loaded http://www.rule-project.org/article.php3?id_article=54 into my browser for reference
4. Boot with slinky disk
5. At boot prompt entered "linux dd updates" as suggested by section 8.2
6. Got prompt "Would you like to begin the installation process?"
7. Entered "no"
8. Removed the slinky disk, inserted the PCMCIA disk
9. mount /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy (ignored warning)
10. /mnt/floppy/setup_pcmcia.sh
11. nano -w /scripts/init_network.sh - Edited network variables, removed extra HOSTx's
12. CTRL-O, Enter, CTRL-X to save and exit
13. umount /mnt/floppy
14. insert DISK2
15. mount /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy
16. /scripts/pcmcia.sh start
And this is as far as I get. If I try to do "pcmcia.sh start" with the PCMCIA disk mounted, it fails looking for stuff from DISK2. If I mount DISK2 and run it, it fails because stuff from PCMCIA isn't present. I'm sure I've missed something that is obvious to someone else. But the install guide has been no help at all so far. Section 10.6 is certainly no help, since it tells nothing about PCMCIA. Scrounging around the installation reports so far hasn't yielded anything useful to my situation, but it is hard to tell which I should look at, since there is no distinction between laptops and desktops. So, I appeal to the list. Can anybody give me a hand?
Thanks in advance,
Jeff.
P.S. Similar problem with Compaq Contura. I tried copying the network modules from disk 2 to the ramdisk, then modifying init_network.sh to point to them. I think that is closer, but on this machine the PCMCIA nic is recognized by cardmgr as an ne2000 card, but I couldn't find an ne2.o anywhere.
