Despite their low prices, I hear nothing but good things about
http://www.dreamhost.com.
Some disclaimers:
* there is some money to be had by making referrals (even though I'm not a
current customer)--if you use dreamhost, mention somebody or some worthy
organization as the referrer ($97 per referral, iiuc)
* I never actually used the service--I signed up on a very good one year
deal, but then left my site (WikiLearn) where it was being hosted for free
(was Sourceforge, since then moved elsewhere (with twiki.org))

* Among other things they seem to get kudos for responding to
