I used freeshell previously for a site that had to do with politics more
than tech. The person running the show was very responsive to my needs
in terms of recompiling for PHP functionality that was missing so that I
could run a drupal-based site. Last I was there, they were running
NetBSD, if that is a consideration. Access time was sometimes a bit slow
from Europe.
