Hi friends,
In the meantime I am a small step further. Means I
got graphical login at the LT-Server (a ruleified system). I checked all
beneath:
inittab:
id:5:initdefault:
x:5:respawn:/etc/X11/prefdm -nodaemon
Additionally I had to edit /etc/X11/xdm/Xservers and to enable the line:
#:0 local /usr/X11R6/bin/X
by removing the leading #. This brought me to the result that I had exactly the
same problem on the server as I had on the clients: Loginwindow appears, but
iceWM does not show up. Instead I fall back to the Loginwindow. So this is no
more a LTSP-problem. It cooks down to the question, how can I enable xdm on
Slinky (the above seems to me _almost_ complete), and how to let iceWM start.
For completeness the logfile:
~/.xsession-errors:
IceWM: using /home/u1/.icewm for private configuration files
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified
IceWM: Impossible d'ouvrir le Display :0. Le serveur X doit être lancé et
la variable $DISPLAY positionnée.
regards, ingo
