Hello,
as you may already know, I spent last saturday giving a RULE demo at
LIDAP (www.linuxatwork.info/lidap/), an Open Source Lab in wonderful
Tuscany.
Everything went well. I had written an updated version of the RULE
slide show in italian with KOffice 1.2. I had also installed RH9 with
slinky 0.3.96, and KOffice 1.2, on my laptop (133 MHz Pentium, 32 MB
of RAM, 700 MB available disk space).
Saturday I gave my talk without problems live off that laptop, which,
I hope, really made our point (The slideshow also includes a
screenshot of the laptop in which I am checking my balance online with
the Firefox browser).
Right after the talk, I placed the slinky iso in a 266 MHz PC and
recreated the same RH9 setup I had on my laptop, explaining how the
process works.
Several interesting points were raised, which I will report in
separate message.
For now, thanks again to Michael and David for all their support.
Also thanks, both for inviting me and for his wonderful hospitality to
Marco Costanzo, the LIDAP coordinator.
Ciao,
Marco Fioretti
